The weather is hot and it is almost the start of a three day weekend. Not that we should need a reminder, but life is good! Unfortunately the good weather doesn’t look like it is going to last long so I had hoped to consider uniform amendments for hot weather but this isn’t currently going to be the case.
With under 50 school days left of the academic year by my calculation things are always challenging to get so much done for the various end of term requirements alongside transition and then planning for the new academic year. What I do want to say though is that with SATS soon upon us that I hope pupils in Year 6 are doing regular but small amounts of preparation. SATS are a chance to show the best version of yourself, but absolutely do not define you, your values or your future. As always context is so important.
Collective Worship
This week in Collective Worship we have been considering The Resurrection and using it as an opportunity to reflect on things that we cannot always explain and why this is an opportunity and not a challenge. We work hard to provide opportunitites for spiritual reflection and this week has been a great example of this.

House and attendance update
It was wonderful to see almost 4000 House Points awarded this week, which was almost 1400 more than last week! As the saying about buses sometimes goes, Farah waited a long time to top the House Point table and then they manage it two weeks in a row! I am so pleased that pupils have seen their efforts and hard work pay off, so well done all in Farah. I’ve every faith that the other Houses will not want Farah to make it three in a row so the challenge is on!
Curie continue to lead the overall highest attendance of the term but their lead has been cut by an excellent week for Christie. I have no idea who the overall winning House is currently for the year but my feeling is that it is very close, especially with Christie and Curie.

Huge well done to Archer KB on two fronts this week! He recentlky finished in 3rd place in a highly competitive Karting competition but was also played for the Stratford Upon Avon U13 first team in the Stourbridge tournament. Outstanding Archer!
School recongition
Yesterday evening Evesham Abbey Trust was awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, by the King’s representative in the county, The Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire. There was a wonderful ceremony to honour the role of volunteers where St Egwin’s History Department was recognised for their incredible support to promote the proud history of Evesham. Mr Clabbon was recognised for the key role that he has played and quite rightly received much deserved praise for his amazing work. This award is the equivalent to an M.B.E and is a huge honour.
50 year celebrations

Grab and go trial at lunch
Our catering company, Aspens, are going to trial pupils eating grab and go meals on the grass outside the dining room as a trial next week. The idea is that it will hopefully create further space in the dining room. I am happy to support the trial but it is very much dependent on pupils respect, particularly regarding litter, or rather the complete absence of it!
May 21st school photo
As a reminder we have our 50 year anniversary photo on May 21st. On this day all pupils must wear their full school uniform including blazer and tie. This is the case even if pupils have PE. This uniform requirement is also in place for transition day where Year 8 pupils go to their High School.
