RE Enrichment Day 2025

Our RE Enrichment Day has been a wonderful, rich day of learning. We have been focusing on the key question of:
What does it mean for Christians to believe in God as Trinity?

Through an engaging church visit to All Saints Church and creative expression through Art and Writing, we have been able to:

Make sense of belief
Understand the impact and
Make connections.

All Saints Church gave us a wonderful welcome and helped us all to ‘make sense of belief’ by what Christians mean when talking about God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This was achieved through exploring biblical texts, archives, a tour of the church and seeing the holy spirit in action through the wonderful community engagement that All Saints offer. We were also able to make links between the concept of Trinity and the roles and actions of God through the ‘big story’ of the Bible.

At St Egwins we value our relationship with All Saints Church and would like to thank the Rev. Prajna Pal-Lad and all of the volunteers for warmly welcoming our pupils and staff and for deeply enhancing our learning experience.

Art

Our visit from the Church was consolidated back at school. We were able to ‘understand the impact’ through seeing how the Christian community respond to the idea of God as Trinity by expressing ideas about God through art. We used these examples as inspiration to create our own representations of how we can represent the Trinity. The incredible array of art produced by pupils was a joy to see.

In our Writing module, we were able to make connections by taking inspiration from a video depicting how someone’s life was transformed by their belief in the Trinity. We used this as a catalyst to develop our own emotive responses by either writing a first or second hand account or tell the story of a bible left on a bus. We have been impressed by the quality and depth of pupils understanding and their emotive responses through the examples of creative writing.
