2024 National test results

We are pleased that the results for 2024 are a significant improvement on the results of 2023. 

Ofsted, the Department for education and ourselves recognise the challenges of National Key Stage 2 testing for Middle Schools. Whilst the Middle School has a wide range of advantages it does make Key Stage 2 outcomes an unsuitable measure for appraising a school. We are determined to do all that we can to help[ ensure that our pupils perform to the best of their abilities whist ensuring that the broad and balanced curriculum is maintained. Ofsted 2024 commented that despite barriers pupils faced that they achieved well following their time at St Egwin’s.

Spelling, punctuation and grammar was 68%, up 11% from last year

Reading was 70%, up 15% from last year.

Writing was 61%, up 4% from last year.

Maths was 63%, up 12% from last year.

Reading, writing and Maths combined was 48%, up 11% from last year.

GL assessment data (based on approximately 400,000 entries)

A pupil reaching expected standard would score 100.
