Apologies that I was at a conference on Friday and therefore unable to complete my Headteacher update until now. I do hope that you’ve had a good weekend and that the sunshine continues!
Collective Worship
Mr Plane and Mr Wood led Collective Worship fantastically last week. Whilst looking at sacrifice we have been exploring the difficulties and challenges but also within this the hope that is also offered. As always we strike a delicate balance between helping pupils to understand the difficulties that we all encounter in life but within that there was also a real celebration of the hope that is never lost. As always pupils were incredibly responsible and mature in their responses.
Prayer for the week
Our beautiful prayer of the week for this week was written by Aurelia BM:
Dear God
Please help us and guide us through our time on earth
Help us to understand our purpose and the right way to live Help us to maintain and protect what you have brought to us
God in the flesh, God your son and God your righteousness spirit in Heaven
Amen
House and attendance update
Farah have been really showing wonderful progress recently so I was absolutely delighted that they won the House top spot this week. It can be disheartening watching other Houses win but in line with our message of hope, their excellent efforts were rewarded. Well done!
Great work from Curie saw them build their overall attendance lead for this term as they were again the House with the highest weekly attendance. Well done to Curie!
Individual achievements
Huge congratulations to Maisy C who was our overall pupil House Point winner representing Christie last week.
Well done to the following winners of each House:
Attenborough – Amelia C and Rowan KG
Christie – Maisy C
Curie – Noah S and Harry S
Farah – Joseph H
Turing – Seraphina G
Well done to Lia KG who produced a stunning piece of work centred on images of a tiger.
Great work from Arlo B saw him selected as Oracy Champion of the week.
Time capsule requests
Ahead of our time capsule creation I would welcome any items of memory that you may have had across your time or connections with the school if you are happy to donate them. We will be inviting parents/carers to join us for a special Collective Worship and event to store the capsule on the morning of Friday 17th July. More details of that in due course.
Sponsorship opportunity
Mrs Coates is walking 26 miles in July to help raise funds for The Alzheimers Society. If you were able to help support this we would all be really grateful. This is a wonderful event for such an important cause. Details can be found by clicking on https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/trek26cotswolds202626miles-angharadcoats?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
Final day of the summer term
To support families and staff the last day of this term, Friday 17th July, will mean that the school closes at 1p.m. As always buses will leave at this time to ensure children are all able to get home.
