Thank you for your great support this term and for taking the time to read my final update of the Spring term. If someone could give the weather a gentle reminder that is is the end of March then perhaps that might help a little! I am very grateful to Mr Farr for producing the Easter newsletter which I hope you will also find an informative and interesting read.
Collective Worship
It is unsurprising that Palm Sunday was the focus for Collective Worship this week where pupils have been considering what a coronation might mean and what differing formats for a coronation exist. I have been really struck by some of the debates that pupils have had about what Jesus must have felt being celebrated as King and yet knowing that soon he would be betrayed and die. The quality of the reflections has been a real testament to the maturity of pupils at St Egwin’s.
House and attendance updates
Well done to Christie who won the most House Points for the week and also for the term combined. It was really interesting that when the House Point averages were collated that Christie managed to 84.6 House Points per pupil, narrowly beating Farah who had 84.3!! The fact that average House Points received are so high is not a surprise given the engagement and positive attitude of pupils and our school community.
Curie had ana amazing week for attendance this week which meant that they also ended up as overall attendance champions for the term too, having taken the award right at the end of the term! With such strong commitment to attendance throughout each House it is really helping pupils to flourish. My thanks as always to the staff for their excellent support with their hard work. It is greatly appreciated.
Pupil achievements

Oracy Champion of the week was Noah S for his brilliant contributions in lessons.
We had two Artists of the week this week, Claudia V and Lulia B. Alongside their incredicle contributions I have also included some brilliant work from pupils who attended an art workshop.
Brilliant perfoemce in ballet recently has seen Grace L achieve an incredible score and distinction in her ballet exam!
Another amazing success story for Morgan P who recently competed at the London Warrior open championship. Not only did he perform superbly, but he brought home a silver medal in what was an incredible achievement! Topping this off Morgan also recently secured his blue belt!
We Will Rock You
Thank you so much to the amazing cast and crew of We Will Rock You which joined the long list of superb school productions. The show was an absolute triumph of inclusivity, teamwork and commitment. If you were one of the many people who witnessed the show then I am sure that you will join me in celebrating what was an incredible achievement.
A special thanks alongsude the cast members to Mr Langley, Mrs Sadler, Mrs Phillips, Mr Farr and Mr Thompson who gave up so much time to ensure the production was such a success.
SATS information reminder

Attenborough challenge
Please do all that you can to particpate in the amazing David Attenborough challenge that St Egwin’s is proudly committed to supporting across the school community. As a remidner, the deadline for the completion of the 100 tasks is the 7th May.
Field reminder
Weather permitting, pupils will be on the field at lunchtime from our return after the Easter holiday.
Absence amendment
In my last update I had referred to being absent for a short while following knee surgery on April 16th. The surgery has now been moved to 20th May so Mr Plane will be acting as Headteacher at that point with senior colleagues providing their usual brilliant support.
Goodbye and farewell
In the Easter newsletter I have paid tribute to Mrs Petit, Mrs Legge and Mrs Foster who are leaving us at Easter after a combined total of several decades of service to St Egwin’s and our community. I just wanted to take this final opportunity to wish each of them the very best for their future. Their dedication and commitment have been a core part in the success of the school so they will be missed both personally and professionally.
